whenever I see other people reblogging forever-alone things I snort to myself
because I know damn well it ain’t true
especially for the young’uns
My favourite is when the kidlets reblog things like “reblog if you don’t drink/smoke/have sex or whatever.
And I’m all “…you’re like… 13…” I know a lot of young teenagers do that, but uh, it doesn’t mean you’re special, it just means you aren’t breaking the law.
PFFFFFFFFF can I just
I don’t know what’s stupider, the fact these overly dramatic 13 year olds think their lives are over before they’ve even began or the fact you guys seem so haughty in dismissing the insecurities of a bunch of children.
Is there seriously some good reason to pick on kids for being proud of not smoking or drinking? Unless the post is I AM THE ABSOLUTE ONLY PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO DOESN’T SMOKE OR DRINK, how is it saying they’re special instead of just PROUD and want to share that with other people?
What you said.
It rubs me the wrong way when people dismiss kids being proud of not smoking/drink/doing drugs. Sure, it means they aren’t breaking the law, but a lot of kids DO break the law and do those things. Making the choice not to is, in my opinion, something to be proud of.
Now, it’s a whole other thing if the kid says something like “I’LL NEVER DO DRUGS OR DRUNK! SXE 4 LYF!!!!1!!!” or some shit and then gives up on that the second they turn legal to do any of those things. That shit chaps my ass and gives people who make a legitimate commitment to that lifestyle a bad name. (I decided to be straightedge at 16 and have been so for the last 12 years. I may be defensive and/or biased about it. XD)
And I think it just called me a sociopath….

DIAGNOSIS:
You reach out to the world and pull in experiences of all forms and kinds. Spontaneous, immediate and active, you have a natural tendency to win, whether this is in the business world or on the freeway. In the right context this can be a positive encouragement to those around you. In the wrong context it can lead to a pathetic display of ego and misplaced pride. You are always on the prowl for clues as to how to win. Usually this behavior is unconscious or playful but the sense of play can rapidly disappear if you are found to be losing in the aforementioned contest. Only those who don’t compete are met with derision. You love to be the center of attention. The moment at hand is always of prime concern. Worries about the future or the past, or abstract discussions of philosophical matters are something for others to concern themselves with. Emotions are fleeting and often used as tactics.

That’s OK, tho. I figured that out a while ago.
