I think I got it from some random tag on here about all the characters Benedict might be playing BUT STILL. KAJSHKDAJSHDKA

In canon Kirk was Gary’s TA at the Academy, basically.  They became bros and served together on the Enterprise until Gary went nuts due to alien energy or whatever.

But in Abramsverse, Kirk leaves the Academy early and at the very least we don’t SEE Gary get assigned to the Enterprise.  But maybe they still know each other, or could still meet up, and maybe Gary still goes crazy.  

AND MAYBE THERE ARE STILL ALL THE KIRK/GARY FEELS. KJSDNKSAJDS

LOL Benedict doesn’t look like a Gary.  I DON’T EVEN KNOW.
